The SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award is given to an individual (who need not be an SSCP member) who has made an extremely important career contribution to the science of clinical psychology. This award will be reviewed annually and will be given only in years in which a nominee can be selected based on the stated criteria.
A list of previous award winners appears here.
The award winner will receive a certificate and will be invited to present a talk at the annual ABCT meeting.
How to Apply
Applications should include the individual's name, CV, and a brief (no more than 1 page) description of why you believe they are deserving of the award. Specifically, it will be most helpful if you can describe the individual's accomplishments that are most relevant to the contribution to the science of clinical psychology. Members of all underrepresented and minority groups are encouraged to apply. Self-nominations are welcome.
Nominators should submit applications by email to the current SSCP president as a single document (e.g., a single PDF file).
For 2025, please submit to Shari Steinman (shari.alaina@gmail.com).
Members of the SSCP board will review applications and select the award recipient.
The deadline for the award nomination is June 15, and the winner will be announced the following month.
