Distinguished Scientist Award

The SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award is given each year to an individual (who need not be an SSCP member) who has made an extremely important career contribution to the science of clinical psychology.

A list of previous award winners appears here.

The award winner will receive a certificate and will be invited to present a talk at the annual APS meeting.

How to Apply

Applications should include the individual's name, CV, and a brief (no more than 1 page) description of why you believe they are deserving of the award. Specifically, it will be most helpful if you can describe the individual's accomplishments that are most relevant to the contribution to the science of clinical psychology. Members of all underrepresented and minority groups are encouraged to apply. Self-nominations are welcome.

Nominators should submit applications by email to the current SSCP president as a single document (e.g., a single PDF file).

For 2024, please submit to Rachel Hershenberg at rhershenberg@gmail.com.

Members of the SSCP board will review applications and select the award recipient.

The deadline for the award nomination is October 31, and the winner will be announced the following month.

People who are ineligible for consideration are current Board members and those who have won this award previously.
