The goals of the Public Education and Media committee are to set up:
a) a process for identifying good or bad examples of clinical science reporting; b) a process for writing brief press releases, blog posts, letters to the editor in response to those articles (i.e., to be approved by the board and submitted quickly); c) a spot on the SSCP website where such articles could be posted; d) cross-posting of extant blogs and articles written by our members and others who communicate a science-based perspective of clinical psychology; e) use of social media to help create a SSCP voice within the news cycle, and to help disseminate the aforementioned letters to the editor, press releases, etc; f) development of a list of SSCP members who have expertise in specific content areas that can be used by reporters who need a science-based source; g) identification of reporters who may be interested in hearing story ideas from us about the science of clinical psychology.
